Celebrating American Workers and Securing Their Future

As we enter Labor Day weekend, it’s important to recognize and celebrate the contributions of American workers who are the backbone of our nation’s economy. From the factory floor to the family farm, our workers are the driving force behind America's success story. But celebration alone is not enough—we must ensure that the policies we implement empower them to thrive in today’s economy.

Right to Work: Republicans continue to stand firmly for the right of every American to work without being forced into union membership. By supporting Right to Work laws, we empower workers with the freedom to choose how they want to be represented. We believe that no one should be coerced into paying union dues just to have a job, and we will fight to protect this essential freedom.

Economic Victories: Under Republican leadership, we have fought tirelessly to reduce taxes, eliminate burdensome regulations, and ensure that workers keep more of their hard-earned money. We have pushed for policies that create jobs, raise wages, and bring manufacturing back to American shores. We are committed to continuing this fight so that every worker has the opportunity to achieve the American Dream.

As we celebrate this Labor Day, we reaffirm our dedication to policies that put American workers first. Let us remember that a strong economy starts with strong workers, and we will continue to champion the policies that support their growth, security, and prosperity.

Increased Cost of Living: It’s also crucial to acknowledge the economic challenges our workers face today. A typical Labor Day cookout in 2024 is significantly more expensive compared to 2020. In fact, the cost of key items like ground beef, lemonade, and other essentials has risen sharply. For example, ground beef is now 11% more expensive than last year, contributing to an overall increase of nearly 22% in the cost of food and beverages since 2020. This means that families are paying over 20% more for the same cookout today than they did just four years ago (Farm BureauFarm Bureau).

Republicans recognize these challenges and are committed to reversing this trend by advocating for policies that combat inflation, lower the cost of living, and return purchasing power to the American worker. Together, we can build a brighter future for all Americans.
